The Great Lynden “Dutch Treat” 2018 takes place tomorrow citywide in Lynden! From 3:00-6:00pm bring your family (under 12 to participate, please) around town to trick or treat. Look for the orange balloons outside of participating businesses at Fairway Center, Lynden Towne Plaza, and downtown Lynden.

Make sure you stop by our office @ 505 Front Street! The Muljat Group North team is excited to see all the costumes!

Our office is participating in the City-Wide trick-or-treating event. We can’t wait to see all the children dressed up in their costumes on October 31st.
We will be handing out candy from 3:00-5:00 pm. Businesses that have orange balloons will be handing out treats!

Lynden Comes Alive With Music

The 8th Annual Lynden Music Festival starts tomorrow, October 5 through 9. Thirty concerts will be performing at 17 different business venues in downtown, Lynden. A variety of musical concerts & musicians will be performing everything from Jazz, country, big band music & more.
Come celebrate Lynden and its musical heritage paying tribute to musicians who have greatly contributed to enriching the Lynden community with music.
A variety of music genres will be performing ~ don’t miss out on this lively festival of music.

Lynden – 2016 America’s Main Streets Contest Winner

Independent We Stand created a beautiful video showcasing Lynden! It pretty much sums it up why the City of Lynden won America’s Main Street competition this past July. New businesses have started up, the population is growing, and we have new schools being built. So much progress since the 2008 fire in Delft Square. Once you visit Lynden you will be drawn back! BLOCK PARTY ON JULY 4 – DOWNTOWN, LYNDEN!

Lynden will be celebrating winning America’s Main Streets competition with a – Block Party on July 4 | 11am-2pm | 5th Street (between Front & Grover Street)
The Downtown Business Association will celebrate the $25,000 cash award. The presentation of the oversized $25,000 check will begin at noon with the national anthem performed by the King’s Men of Song, followed by a proclamation by Mayor Scott Korthuis. Bill Brunelle, co-founder of the Independent We Stand coalition supporting local business districts, will then present the winning check.
There will be free food, drinks, t-shirts & mini-flags for the first 300 people. Queens Bluegrass will be performing live. Enter your name for three grand prize drawings, one for a new STIHL, leaf blower and two for Van Wingerden’s hanging baskets. You must be present to win all drawings.
At least a dozen businesses will be open throughout the celebration. Some businesses will offer 25% discounts and each store will have a drawing for $25 gift certificates. So come on downtown on July 4 and be a part of the Block Party Celebration!

EXPERIENCE FALL FUN IN WHATCOM COUNTY

Fall is such a beautiful time of year in Whatcom County!

If you have never visited Stoney Ridge Farm in Everson, Washington you better do so because this is their final 2015 harvest season after 25 years of celebrating!

They have the largest pumpkin patch in the county! Take the whole family as they would truly enjoy taking a hay ride to the pumpkin patch to pick out the perfect pumpkin. The farm animals are a hoot to watch especially the funny goats leaping and walking on the overhead ramps! The home made pumpkin and gooey caramel apple pies are so yummy! To quench your thirst the fresh-pressed pasteurized cider is amazing. You can even harvest some fresh crisp apples as they have u-pick apples. The farm is really the picture perfect setting for the photographer in your family!

NORTHWEST WASHINGTON FAIR

Come visit The Fair in downtown, Lynden! This event is August 17 – 22, 2015. The NWWA Fair has been in operation since 1911 and has something for everyone!
With big name entertainment at the grandstands like, the great country music star, Terri Clark, from Medicine Hat, Alberta, Canada, who continues to headline sold-out tours throughout the U.S. and Canada. Terri will perform on Friday, August 20. The rock band Skillet, winner of the Rock Album of the Year and Rock Song of the Year at the 2014 Dove Awards, and special guest Colton Dixon will perform August 20th. The Lynden PRCA Rodeo is today and Wednesday, August 19th. If you’re into extreme sports Motocross is Saturday, August 22. The demo derby is always a loud and exciting event too!
Park for free at one of several locations in downtown Lynden and ride the free shuttle bus to the fairground. WTA is offering free rides on all routes to the Fair as well.
There is always great entertainment anytime of the day at the Fair that includes free entertainment found at the Charter College Festival Stage and the clock area. Take a stroll through the beautiful grounds and visit the animal barns, craft barns and exhibitor booths. Fun for all at the carnival with the rides, games & fair foods.
The forecast is sunshine through the whole week, so come on down to the Northwest Washington Fair!

HAPPY 4TH OF JULY

In observance of July 4 the office will be closed on Friday, July 3, and Saturday, July 4.

If you are looking for info on fireworks read on….
Lots of events are happening in Whatcom County. Zuanich Park festivities begin at 10 am. Fireworks at sunset! For nearly two decades, the Bellingham/Whatcom Chamber of Commerce & Industry has partnered with Haggen Northwest Fresh and the Port of Bellingham to provide the community fireworks display.
The festival includes vendor and craft booths, live bands and old-time games for the kids. At 2pm, the beer garden opens!

The City of Blaine is also having their Old Fashioned 4th of July Celebration! With all day-long activities that include a pancake breakfast, a parade at noon, an arts and crafts street fair with over 80+ vendors and don’t forget the fireworks display over Semiahmoo Bay in the evening!
Looks like the hot weather will continue on this long weekend ~ please use extra precaution around fireworks. Also, slather on some extra sunscreen for the all day family events.

The 17th Annual Curt Maberry Memorial Classic registration forms are now available! This event is organized by The Muljat Group North real estate office. All entry fees from the 3on3 go directly to the Lynden Chamber of Commerce, in supporting community events. Activities and fun for the whole family! The 3on3 is held in conjunction with the Northwest Raspberry Festival.

COMMUNITY EVENTS

The festive holiday season has hit Lynden! Lots of events to enjoy for the family. Starting Friday, December 5, enjoy an evening of desserts and community fun at the Jansen Arts Center! If you are a baker this is your chance to enter the holiday dessert baking contest. On Saturday, December 6, have breakfast with Sinterklaas at the Lynden Community Center from 8am – 11am.
The Elf on the Shelf Scavenger Hunt starts on Saturday, from 11am – 5pm (that sneaky little Elf may be hiding at our office 🙂 This little Elf is worth searching for, lots of prizes to be won! We will be open from 10am – 2pm. Community Tree Lighting & Caroling is from 5pm – 6pm. The Grand Finale will be the 24th annual Lighted Christmas Parade at 6pm starting at Fairway Center and arrives downtown at 6:15pm. Come downtown to our real estate office and pick up a complimentary cup of soup served by our friendly realtors! We hope to see you – Merry Christmas!
